Home of the Ashfall by John Jack Wigley What gets my attention when reading a story is whether or not it is based on true events. I really like reading historical ones that depict real-life events and what actually happened at that time; it gives me insight into what it was like to be in that situation. However, if the story is based on genuine experiences that the Author experienced himself, I'm basically hypnotized to read it. This is why I'll be talking about an Essay written by John Jack Wigley " Home of the Ashfall ". A story that gives you a deep dive into what happened during the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in the Philippines and the devastating effects it had on the Filipino's lives. But it's not the real-life accuracy of it that caught my attention, it's the fact that the story is told through the eyes of John himself.
